CHORAL ENSEMBLES

Students in all grades and of all experience levels can participate in an ensemble. Auditions are required for advanced level ensembles and may be required for certain intermediate level ensembles. Choir courses meet during the school day for credit. Rehearsals and performances both in and out of school are required. The following ensembles are among those offered, of which four or five will run each year depending on enrollment and voicing within the program.

VOCAL CLARITY

Vocal Clarity is a choir of treble voices. Singers of all grades and experience are welcome. Emphasis is on correct vocal performance techniques. Repertoire includes choral literature from all musical periods and styles, vocal techniques, and sight-singing. No audition required.

ENCORE

Encore is a choir of basso voices. Singers of all grades and experience are welcome. Emphasis is on correct vocal performance techniques. Repertoire includes choral literature from all musical periods and styles, vocal techniques, and sight-singing. No audition required.

MARSHALL HARMONY

This group offers intermediate choral experiences specifically for mixed voices. Students develop both musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance. Course content includes a study of choral literature from all music periods and styles, vocal techniques, and sight-singing.

Audition may be required.

CAMERATA

This group offers advanced choral experiences specifically for treble voices. Students develop both musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance. Course content includes a study of choral literature from all musical periods and styles, vocal techniques, and sight-singing.

STATESMEN SINGERS

The Statesmen Singers is an a cappella advanced mixed choral group in which emphasis is placed on the development of musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance. Course content includes a study of choral literature, vocal techniques, and sight-singing. Repertoire can include popular and sacred songs in multiple languages. Statesmen Singers have a heavy schedule of extracurricular performances during the December holiday season.

NOTEWORTHY

Noteworthy is an auditioned extra-curriculuar mixed a cappella group.  They rehearse once a week and perform at regular school chorus concerts.  The group is primarily student-led. Auditions are required.
